Upcoming Speakers for January
January 21-Rev. Diane Sickler
Potluck Lunch & Board Meeting
January 28-Jamie Walters
Topic: “The (Super) Power of Appreciation.”
We’ve rescheduled our cancelled January 6 workshop for next Saturday, January 27.
Our next workshop is scheduled for February 10 from 1pm-3pm in the Eden Room. Maria Dailey will be presenting on “The Work of Byron Katie: Forgiveness Technique”
Description: What is forgiveness? What does it mean to forgive? How do I do it? And how do I know I have forgiven? These were some of the questions I had when I was told to forgive. This workshop is for people who want to forgive and don’t know how. The work of Byron Katie is a simple technique, based on four questions and some turnarounds, that teaches us how to forgive and gives us the peace to know when we’ve succeeded.
Stay tuned to your email for more information and “Save the Date!”
The Courage To Imagine
The 2018 Unity yearly theme is The Courage to Imagine. It is through the power of imagination that we can transform our lives. Whatever outcome we envision, we can achieve. Using this gift, we can release limiting thoughts and realize our divine potential.
The 5 Basic Principles of Unity Teachings
Unity encourages you to explore and apply Unity teachings based on your own spiritual understanding. We believe this spiritual understanding is enhanced through reflective prayer and meditation. The five basic ideas that make up the Unity belief system are: 1) God is the source and creator of all. There is no other enduring power. God is good and present everywhere. 2) We are spiritual beings, created in God’s image. The spirit of God lives within each person; therefore, all people are inherently good. 3) We create our life experiences through our way of thinking. 4) There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God. 5) Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough. We must live them.
Our Unity Prayer Request Box
We encourage you to make a list of all of your prayer concerns for both yourself and others, and to put it in the prayer request box either before or after the service on Sundays. Prayer requests will be sent on to Silent Unity where they will also be prayed about every day for 30 days.
Feel free to bring a new prayer list every Sunday.
